Green City Escape

From Ljubljana to the Alpine region, at the feet of the Julian Alps, we reach Kranj, one of the liveliest towns in Slovenia. Located on a 30-metre-high rock, Kranj is embraced by the Sava and Kokra rivers, entirely protected as a cultural monument.
Under the old town, there lie 1,300 metres of hidden underground tunnels that were built during World War II and served as the town bunker. However, today the tunnels serve as a unique venue for various fascinating events. Take a walk past the town’s main attractions.
Stop at the culinary attraction – Figa, continue to the Noodle King, master of homemade pasta, continue below along the River Kokra Canyon, the second highest canyon in Europe, located right next to a town, offering a wonderful place to relax immers ed in nature, only a few steps away from the busy hustle and bustle.
In the pleasant setting of the local taverns, traditional flavours of the Carniolan sausage, dumplings and beer come to life. Stop for a coffee at the idyllic Panorama Old Post, with the view of the old town and picturesque alpine surroundings. To round up our visit, we stop at the Church of St. Primus and Felician on the Jamnik hill that offers astonishing views in every season of the year.
